You can kiss your family good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world, but a world lives in you.

Lake Keowee

The Last Summer Get-a-way...Lake Keowee, South Carolina.
Anne invited us and the Robbins family to come up for a day at the lake with the kids. And since they had never been on a boat before we thought this would be a great chance to let them experience that kind of fun. Anne's parents live right on the lake. They have a BEAUTIFUL home with a boat dock and lift, tons of floats, rafts, and water toys. And a jet ski as well. We got there early Saturday morning and brought the rain with us, but that didn't stop anyone from getting in the pretty lake water. It was perfectly warm and the girls had no reservations jumping in off the dock with their life jackets on. Drew enjoyed staying close to mom but had fun swimming too. By 4:00, the weather had finally cleared up and the sun started to shine. So, we all hopped in the boat with Captain Bob and headed out for some tubing. Each kid got to go with a mom or a dad and we all had a blast. We spent the last part of the day Jet Skiing around the cove and letting the kids play in the lake. By 8:00, they were all sound asleep and exhausted from the long, fun day. We had over 300 pictures for one day at the lake. Here are a few of them, but the rest can be found at the share site.

White Water Rafting

For the past two years, the girls have gotten together and sent the boys on a white water rafting trip for Father's Day. And, while we all know the weekend is filled with debauchery, we turn our heads and let them have their loud music, adult beverages and obscene conversations as far back in the woods as possible. We pray hard that no one gets hurt, lost, or offended in the 48 hours they are gone. They went with a different rafting company this year due to some scheduling issues, but had a blast and will probably go with this company again next year. Here's to a fun boys weekend away!!!

Oh look...a lighter...who wants to go down in the woods and get it??? BUNKY!!!!

No need to sterilize the hot tub...it was 80 proof by the end of the weekend.

Bo says this picture emulates everyone's weekend trip...see if you can guess who was hung over, who did not want to go in the water, and who was the instigator.

Wipeout 2010!!!

We had our first ever WIPEOUT Back to School party for the kiddos this weekend. And, I think this might make the list of annual events. Every neighbor created a fun event or obstacle course in their yard for the kids to complete. Our event consisted of a bat spin, running to and sliding down the slip and slide, dribbling a soccer ball through a series of cones, scoring a goal, jumping through a giga ball filled with water, running up the side of the house, sliding down the slide and sitting at the finish line. We shared our event with the Robbins and the kids were exhausted after a 2 house event. Afterwards we had pizza and a bunch of tired children. There are tons of pictures on the share site, but here are a few to get you started.
