You can kiss your family good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world, but a world lives in you.

Camp Meriwether American Girl Day Camp

Ally has joined Brownies this year and we got to head to Camp Meriwether for an American Girl Day Camp. Ally was excited about this because her list for Santa included an American Girl doll and because we had not done a day camp with our scout troop since we had joined Daisy Scouts a few years ago. Hannah headed to camp with us for the day. The day started early and with a long drive. Camp Meriwehter is south of Atlanta and way off the beaten path so it took about an hour and a half to get there. We spent the day doing crafts and activities that the American Girls would have done during their time period...sewing, cooking, leatherworks, horseback riding and games. It was a day packed with tons of fun. We hit a Wendy’s on the way home for dinner in the car and by the time we got home, both girls were exhausted. I’m sure we’ll be doing lots more day camps now that we’ve had a taste of all the fun they can be.
